Hestia Childcare Amsterdam
Hestia offers childcare at two locations in Amsterdam. Both in Amsterdam Noord and in the Rivierenbuurt, children come to our daycare and after-school care centers every day. We also have locations in Amstelveen and Driemond. We are a warm home where children can discover themselves in complete freedom under the watchful eye of our loving and well-trained people. At our daycare centers and after-school care centers, we work according to the Hestia Way. Our distinct pedagogical vision that makes our approach different from regular childcare. We follow the natural development of children and are inspired by Reggio Emilia, Maria Montessori and Rudolf Steiner, among others. We believe that everything is already in a child. Our employees help children become who they want to be. We honor and respect a child’s autonomy and help it become aware of itself, others and the world around it.

Nature & outdoor play
We think it is important to spend a lot of time in nature and discover what happens there. That is why we play outside every day (rain or shine) and often go out. We work close to nature and also bring it inside our locations.
Inclusion & culture
At Hestia, most families and children are multilingual and we offer bilingual care at most locations. We do this according to the OTOL method (one teacher one language). This means that one Pedagogical Employee speaks Dutch and another speaks English. We spend a lot of time on different cultures and exploring another person’s perspective.
Natural development
Our pedagogical vision is the core of Hestia. We follow the natural pace of a child and assume that all talent is already there. By using creativity, we let children marvel at themselves and the world around them.
